Brian McKinney
Senior Designer & Manager
Raised between Evergreen, Colorado and San Jose, CA, Brian developed an early appreciation for both the rural and urban character of the places he called home. That contrast helped shape his interest in the built environment, craft, and the ways architecture responds to landscape and community. Before pursuing architecture, he spent his twenties working in carpentry and a variety of hands-on jobs, experiences that continue to inform his practical and material approach to design. He later attended California College of the Arts, where he found architecture to be a natural intersection of art, construction, and creative problem solving.
After graduating in 2017, he joined Futureforms, helping design and manage public art projects across a wide range of scales and contexts. In 2026, he joined Moment X, where his long-standing passion for residential architecture and thoughtful living environments feels especially aligned.
Having lived in San Francisco for more than a decade, Brian maintains a deep love for the Bay Area and its culture, landscapes, and architecture. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife Sofia, a fellow architectural designer, and their two dogs, Tschumi and Enzo.
